LIVERPOOL Ladies have appointed Doncaster Belles manager Neil Redfearn as their new boss.

Redfearn, who had three spells as Leeds caretaker manager and a brief stint in charge of Rotherham in the SkyBet Championship, has signed a deal for the 2018-19 season.

"It is a massive privilege and real honour for me to have been appointed as manager of Liverpool Ladies," said the former Bantams and Park Avenue player, who also had a spells as York City youth-team coach and caretaker manager,

"It is a team with big potential which should be challenging for trophies on a regular basis.

"Liverpool Football Club is a huge club and I have every confidence that we will be competing at the top end of the Women's Super League this season."

Liverpool's chief executive Peter Moore said he was impressed by the enthusiasm, desire and ambition of Redfearn, who also played and managed Scarborough.

"He was the real outstanding candidate and we are all delighted to have him on board."
