MEWIES Craven Cricket League Division Three leaders Skipton CI suffered the agony of a one-run defeat at Hepworth & Idle II.

Mike Newell (37no) was the mainstay of the hosts' 161 and the away side were 116-9 before Danyal Iqbal (32) and Sefal Allam (19no) got them so close.

Bingley Congs II missed their chance to go top after losing by 73 runs at home. Mohammad Shahnawaz smashed 112 as visitors Riddlesden amassed 236, despite 7-49 from Michael Baines. Mohammad Qadeer took 4-37 in the reply.

Kev Pollard struck 104 as Thornton made 198-5, but they fell 29 runs short of Barrowford II's total of 227.

Embsay II travelled to Haworth II and were dismissed for 104 as Anthony Haigh took 4-12. The hosts lost seven wickets in reply, but Adrian Radcliffe's 69 ensured their win.

Hosts Crossflatts II were 49 runs too strong for Oakworth II. Kieran Temprell (50) got them to 180 as youngster Bradley Powell took 3-45. Charlotte Boulton (4-17) then helped dismiss the visitors for just 131.

Bradley blasted 269-6 at Sutton II. Frank Watkinson (74) and David Hunt (73no) were the mainstays of the innings with George Blackwell taking 5-70. Sutton slumped to 97-9 in reply with Harry McEnearney 5-9 doing the damage.

In Division Four, Silsden remain top, after a scintillating 162 run victory at Cononley II. They blasted 323-1, with Tom Berry hitting a magnificent 169no and Rob Jones a superb 105no.

The hosts replied with 161, led by Peter Hatton (48no), as Max Worsencroft (3-32) and Joe Sugden (3-56) took the bowling honours.

Wilsden II were dismissed for just 99 as Chatburn II thrashed them by eight wickets.

Cowling II only managed 89 at home to Airedale II with Warren Coppack (4-13) and Adam Madgett (4-17) on fire. The visitors won with three wickets remaining, despite Qamar Zaman's 5-23.

Gargrave II were walloped by 232 runs at home to Foulridge II, skittled for 54 chasing a mammoth 286-7.

Ingrow II only posted 94 at Glusburn II as youngster Cody Hird (4-21) and Josh Banks (3-13) were both in the wickets. The hosts cantered home by six wickets thanks to Michael Egan's 31.

Oakworth III made 147-7 against visitors Bingley Congs III, with Khaleq Ahmed making 39 as Mohammad Ali Raja took 5-43. The away side won by five wickets, with Richard Kirwan and Andy Higgins both making 29.

Darren Pighills (4-15 and 30no) was the star of Skipton CI II's three-wicket home victory. Visitors Denholme II only made 83 but Neil Spencer (4-7) and Ryan Clark (3-24) has the hosts' reply in disarray before they scrambled home.

Under 15 Lily Bell (56) helped Bradley II to 206-7 and Long Lee II replied with just 172. Tom Gill struck 54no as David Ryan claimed 4-51.
