LEADERS Keighley had Paul Quinlan to thank for their 53-run win over Carlton in The All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Championship Two.

Quinlan made an unbeaten 31 to rescue his side from 84-7 and followed up by taking 5-21 as Carlton were dismissed for 101 in reply to Keighley’s 154.

Richard Gould (43) was the only batsman before Quinlan to make an impression against the bowling of Scott Douglas (4-27) and Arman Hassan (3-34).

There’s no keeping Birstall’s talented all-rounder Josh Haynes out of the limelight. He made a magnificent 168, his second successive century, and followed up with 5-21 as his third-placed side thrashed Altofts by 255 runs.

Three sixes and 28 fours flowed from Haynes’ bat as he took his tally of runs for the season to 394. He also has 30 wickets for good measure with his left-arm spin.

Matthew Dyson (64) helped Haynes add 162 for the third wicket as Birstall piled up the day’s biggest score of 322-7. Kieron Holliday was the pick of the Altofts bowlers with 5-67.

Wakefield St Michael’s opener Mark Atkinson was another century maker. He made 105, an innings containing 13 fours, as he helped his side to 227-6 in their 126-run win over Liversedge.

Samar Farooq made a battling 55 for Liversedge but couldn’t save his side from defeat as Ollie Lightfoot took 4-21.

Brighouse’s batsmen helped them pull off a two-wicket win at Bowling Old Lane. Azad Mahmood (63), Chris Wynd (50) and Deron Greaves (47) enabled them to chase down the home side’s 255-5.

Old Lane’s Ahsan Butt was the division’s third century maker. He hit an unbeaten 104, an innings containing 14 fours. Butt shared in an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 188 with Zeeshan Haider (73no) after Old Lane had slipped to 67-5.

Northowram Fields climbed from 13th to 10th after defeating East Ardsley by six wickets to register their first win. Dru Patel (61) and Kyle Welsh (56no) shared a fourth-wicket stand of 123 to help their side overhaul East Ardsley’s 171. James Marston made an unbeaten 88 for East Ardsley while Josh Bennett-Kear (4-53) and Jason Smith (3-28) returned the best bowling figures for the winners.

Little is going right for lowly Spen Victoria. After an opening stand of 52 appeared to be the launchpad for a challenging total, they collapsed to 125 all out and ultimately suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Hopton Mills.

Evan Edwards (38) was the only batsman to make an impression as Michael Carroll (4-45) and Ashley Mackereth (3-35) got to work. Mills had no trouble knocking off the runs with Mark Ashton making 50 not out and Chris Scott (48).
