IT is only week eight but already there are some crunch games for clubs at the wrong end of tables.

One that stands out is tomorrow’s Division Two meeting between Steeton and Calverley.

The pair fill the bottom two spots, already 20 points adrift of Leeds Modernians and 35 points behind Kirkstall and Olicanian who fill the next two slots.

Calverley, whose only victory came against Modernians, have often looked in with a chance in matches, as they did last week when Ben Waller’s 100 in 78 balls gave them a 187 total to defend against Addingham. But they keep coming up just short.

Steeton had looked like a side that would struggle for a victory until last week when four wickets apiece from Joe Stead and James Emmott saw them bowl out Saltaire for 124 and set up a two-wicket win.

Having lost two of their last three matches and been knocked off top spot, Tong Park Esholt need to recapture their early form at struggling Modernians.

New leaders Addingham will start as favourites against Olicanian while Saltaire entertain a Collingham side fresh from bowling out Tong Park for just 92.

Boosted by a big win over Hall Park, Ben Rhydding will fancy their chances against Colton while Park should get back on track at Kirkstall.

Division One bottom club Beckwithshaw host third-placed Follifoot while above them five sides are separated by just nine points.

Bilton currently fill the second relegation spot and they are at Horsforth who crushed Adel last week.

Guiseley hover just above the bottom two after beating Beckwithshaw but face a much tougher challenge at North Leeds, while Pool have the formidable task of trying to stop leaders Otley.

The other two members of that group, Ilkley and Adel meet with Ilkley slight favourites.

Wins over Pool and Ilkley have taken Burley into second place and they entertain Rawdon.

Division Three leaders Green Lane tackle Harden looking to continue their unbeaten run.

New Rover too will start as hot favourites against Menston who have lost their last two.

Bolton Villas should shake off last week’s defeat by St Chads when they entertain rock-bottom Shadwell, the only side in the league without a win so far.

Skipton hope to end a three-match losing streak against St Chads.
