Table-topping Morley made it five wins from five games as they brushed aside Batley to retain a seven-point lead at the top of Bradford Premier League Championship One.

Overseas player Sanga Cooray marked his first game of the season by top scoring with 51 in Morley’s 182-9. Skipper Oliver Halliday weighed in with 43 after Mohammad Shahnawaz (4-48) posed problems for the middle order.

Batley were reduced to 28-5 and never recovered as they were bowled out for 80. Nathan Bromby continued his good form with 5-35 and Dave Nebard chipped in with 3-10.

Second-placed Undercliffe, who host Morley next Saturday, maintained their form with a convincing 136-run win over Pudsey Congs.

Overseas player Khalid Usman (65) and Gulsheraz Ahmed (51) put on 106 for the fourth wicket as Undercliffe compiled 261-5.

Opener Mubtada Akhtar (36) was the only Congs batsman to challenge the dominance of the Undercliffe bowlers as his side were dismissed for 125. Usman completed a fine individual display by taking 4-29 with his off-spin, while Sonny Matharu returned identical figures.

Wrenthorpe are level on 80 points with Undercliffe after their convincing 183-run win over Yeadon. Awais Ejaz impressed with 7-20 as Yeadon were bowled out for just 70.

Wrenthorpe, who batted first, made 253-7 with Matthew Race leading the way with 62 while opener Jordan Sleightholme made 49 and Sam Wrigglesworth (43no).

At the other end of the table, Hartshead Moor climbed off the bottom as they defeated Ossett by three wickets.

Hartshead were in control after bowling out Ossett for 120 with Mohammad Khan taking 4-15 and Iain Wardlaw 3-44.

Overseas player Ali Shah (36) top-scored as Hartshead Moor reached their target in 27.4 overs.

Left-arm spinner Chris Rhodes produced a match-winning spell of 7-40 as Gomersal bowled out Baildon for 176 to complete a 46-run win. Skipper Jack Hainsworth (57) top scored for the Jenny Lane side when they replied to Gomersal’s 222-8.

Richard Wear and Jack Seddon both made 72 and shared a decisive fifth-wicket stand of 114 for Gomersal.

Another slow left -arm bowler in good form was Bankfoot’s Andrew Stothart. He returned figures of 5=36 as his side dismissed Hunslet Nelson for 94 to complete a 117-run win.

Arsaam Malik top scored with 60 in Bankfoot’s 211-8 which also contained useful contributions from skipper James Lee (35), Shanz Prangige (33) and Jawad Waheed (31no). Spinner Danny Cross (3-31) was the pick of the Nelson bowlers.
