GIRLINGTON were no match for league leaders Salem, as they crashed to a 35-run defeat in Division A of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School Cricket League.

Salem were struggling after being bowled out for only 118, but Azhar Ali took a fine 5-18 as Girlington were dismissed for just 83.

Shakeel Arshad (89) helped Cambing reach 196-9, with Mohammed Pandor taking 5-59 for Interlink who won by three wickets and went second thanks to Mohammed Memi's 74.

Asad Ali (40) helped Great Horton Church reach 185 against Apperley Bridge who went third after chasing that target for the loss of five wickets.

Bradford Moor joined them there after beating Bradford Gymkhana. Moor won the toss and batted first, scoring 155 and Gymkhana only managed 90 in reply.

Hallfield also share third after scoring a mammoth 347-6 against Yorkshire Friends. Murtaza Noor smashed 106no before Friends were skittled for 169.

Yorkshire LPS beat Omar by 90 runs. LPS made 167, with Hamaad Shahid taking 5-36 for Omar’s, but their batsmen only made a paltry 77 in reply.

In Division B, Bradford Moor B and Greenfield share top spot after beating Girlington B and Bradford Gymkhana B respectively. Greenfield won by only three runs, and were indebted to skipper Ibrar Ahmed's 4-28.

Denholme Clough beat Cambing B by 21 runs, thanks to Aamir Riaz's 7-20 and Salem B gained a winning draw against Allerton.

Hallfield B beat struggling Bowling Baptist by seven wickets and Great Horton Church B recorded their first win of the season after beating TABS by four wickets.

Greenfield B top Division C after beating Central YMCA by three wickets but Bradford Indians are closing in after beating Great Horton Meths by 86 runs.

Hassan Ali took 7-21, including a hat-trick, as West Bowling beat Bowling Baptist B by 68 runs. Yorkshire LPS B also beat Allerton B by two wickets in that division.

Meanwhile, the draw for the H Broadbent Trophy Second Round is: Bradford Gymkhana B v Allerton B; Great Horton Church B v Bowling Baptists B; Salem Athletic B v Bradford Indians and Greenfield B v West Bowling. Ties will be played on June 24.
