STEETON made it third time lucky as they beat Campion 4-0 to lift the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division Cup.

Having lost to Ovenden West Riding and Huddersfield YMCA in previous finals, they got their hands on the trophy with a convincing victory at Brighouse Town’s ground.

Steeton went ahead after only nine minutes, when Ben Richardson’s shot was diverted into his own net by the Campion goalkeeper.

The Chevrons continued to take the game to their opponents as an Andy Holden strike made it 2-0 following a long throw-in from man of the match Jonah Smith.

A third just before half-time from Andy Briggs put Roy Mason's side in complete charge.

While Campion came back into the game in the second half, they found Steeton keeper Joe Nash equal to their efforts.

And Briggs put the icing on the cake with his second to secure victory for the Keighley side, who are hoping to move up to the North West Counties League next season.

West Horton picked up the Division One Cup by winning a 5-4 penalty shoot-out against Golcar United Reserves after the two sides were locked at 1-1 after normal time at Lower Hopton’s ground.

Meanwhile, the destination of the Premier Division title is still unresolved and has been referred to the league management committee.

Though Salts finished their season top of the table, challengers Golcar could overtake them after their home and away matches against Littletown were ordered to be played again as the latter had fielded an ineligible player.

Golcar won the first replayed clash 1-0 but Littletown failed to raise a side for the second fixture.

The league have sought advice from the County FA and are due to make a decision at their meeting in a week's time.
