CITY will host Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United in the first game on the new Valley Parade pitch.
The Bantams have announced they will face the Championship side in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 17 (7.30pm).
It will be the first time that the home playing surface is used following the extensive repair programme that is currently underway.
Chris Wilder's team last visited Valley Parade in September 2016 when they fought out a 3-3 thriller.
Meanwhile, City will open their pre-season programme at Farsley Celtic on Saturday, July 7.
