HAVING finally chalked up their first win last week, Bradford Dudley Hill face another crucial clash on Saturday in Kingstone Press National Conference League Division One.

After leading 40-14 before stumbling over the line 42-36 at home to Oulton Raiders, second-from-bottom Hill are at home to cellar dwellers Shaw Cross Sharks.

"Hopefully the Raiders game will be a springboard for us," said Hill's first-team manager Steve Wright, "but Shaw Cross is a massive game as we have three tough away games on the bounce after that."

While Hill should have gnarled veteran Sean Dickinson back, as well as Elliot Cousins, who popped a shoulder in his first training session since moving from West Bowling, they will be without Willy Woodhead and Antony Lawton.

West Bowling, who are eighth in Division Two, are at familiar foes Stanningley, who are top of the table.

"We both came up last season and won one and lost one against each other, said Bowling coach Glenn Barraclough, "so it should be close."

West Bowling are missing Kieran Baker, but hope that Liam Darville will be fit after ankle trouble.

Drighlington take on visitors East Leeds, buoyed after a Bank Holiday weekend win against Leigh East.

In the Yorkshire Men’s League, Keighley Albion will be hoping to put last week’s heavy defeat behind them when they host Oulton Raiders in Division One, while unbeaten Queensbury welcome Hull side Skirlaugh Bulls.

In Division Two, Odsal Sedbergh host winless Newsome Panthers, while in Division Three, basement side Birstall Victoria will be looking to pick up their first win of the season at York Lokomotive.

Wyke – hoping to build on last week’s opening-day victory – travel to Sherburn Bears in Division Four, while Worth Village welcome new boys Sheffield Forgers in a bottom-of-the-table scrap.

In Division Five, Wyke Academy welcome New Earswick All Blacks Academy.

The district’s wheelchair rugby league sides will also be in action on Saturday, with Keighley Cougars taking on Hereford Harriers at home in the Championship at 11.30am, and Bradford Bulls travelling to Hull FC for a midday kick-off.
