WARRINGTON coach Steve Price believes a Bulls revival would be great for the game after witnessing a tremendous turnout from the Odsal faithful.

Around 2,000 fans travelled to the Halliwell Jones Stadium and provided boisterous backing for Bradford despite the team being well beaten by Wolves in the Challenge Cup fifth-round clash.

Bulls chief John Kear said the following was proof that a Super League fan base was still in evidence at the club, even after their fall two divisions into League One.

And Price was in agreement as he said: "The fans who showed out in the grandstand were very passionate and it would be great for Super League if Bradford Bulls can get on the map again, considering all the proud history of years gone by.

"They are a well-coached footie team and it is a credit to John on how they are playing. He has won two Challenge Cups and hopefully they can do well and get to the Championship."

Wolves showed no mercy as they ran in ten tries during a 54-6 success but Aussie Price – in his first season at the Wire helm after leaving his post as assistant coach at NRL side Cronulla Sharks – paid tribute to the Bulls effort.

He said: "Credit to Bradford. They had a big crack in the first 20 minutes. It can be quite difficult at times when you are a couple of leagues below but it was a credit to their playing group."

Kear insisted there were plenty of positives to be taken from the game, giving special mention to Joe Keyes who scored the Bulls' only points with a late try which he also converted.

"They (the fans) deserved that and I thought Joe had a top game as well. I thought he was outstanding.

"There were some really good individual performances. He was really our only half-back because we played Elliot Minchella there who is normally a 13 or a back-rower.

"He did really good and will grow in confidence and self-belief from that, as I think a number of players will.

"I thought Liam Kirk’s efforts in defence were magnificent as well.

"We can go away with a bit more belief in a strange way even though we had 54 points stuck on us."
