WARRINGTON Wolves will provide an extremely tough test for the Bulls this weekend in the fifth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup, after an excellent start to their Super League season.

Wolves currently sit third in the table, behind St Helens and Wigan, after eight wins from their opening 12 games.

They played well to record a 40-26 victory over Hull KR on Saturday, earning their sixth successive league win.

Head coach Steve Price was content with his side's performance, telling the club website: “I was very pleased with the outcome, to score 40 points; that’s what good teams do, they find a way to get it done and we did that today.”

He insisted that there was ‘improvement’ to be had within the team though and he warned: “We haven’t done anything as of yet. We take it a week at a time and there’s a long way to go yet.

“We know where we need to get to and what we want to become; we’ve still got a lot of hard work to do.”

Referring to the home clash against the Bulls, Price said: “A few other guys will get an opportunity, ones we haven’t seen too much of this year to date.

“We wont be be underestimating a John Kear coached team that’s for sure.”

The head coach has unsurprisingly tinkered with his 19-man squad for the clash, as he brings in promising youngsters Eribe Doro, Pat Moran and Luis Johnson.

However, this weekend’s squad contains some very familiar names too. It is littered with current and former internationals, such as England’s Josh Charnley and Tonga’s Sitaleki Akauola.

Two players who will not be facing Bradford on Sunday though are props Dom Crosby and Mike Cooper. They are suffering with ankle and hamstring knocks respectively and Price is unwilling to risk them.

Warrington were beaten Challenge Cup finalists in 2016 and lost a thriller 27-26 to Wigan in last year's quarter-finals.
