VILA Halafihi says the Bulls intend to savour every minute of the build-up to their Challenge Cup clash with Warrington.

The pressure is off John Kear’s side for once as they prepare to pit their wits against Super League opposition in Saturday’s fifth-round tie at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

And the squad are under orders from the coach to relish everything about the occasion.

Hooker Halafihi said: “John told us after Sunday’s game to just enjoy this week.

“Enjoy training, enjoy doing the video, enjoy the team run and enjoy game day playing on a lovely pitch with a lot of fans there.

“Every player whether you’re in League One or Super League loves these moments playing against good opposition and good players.

“It’s a massive occasion finally facing a Super League team so let’s enjoy it.”

The Bulls are in the unusual position of underdogs and Halafihi is confident they can raise their game – just as League One opponents have been doing against them this season.

“Any team that comes to Odsal treats it as a cup final and it’s similar for us now,” he added.

“Coventry raised their game for us last week and we want to be doing the same against Warrington.

“I’m sure John will have a lot of headaches building up to this. Everyone will want to be fit to get in the team this weekend.

“He can only pick 17 men but the players who have not been in the squad every week have been pushing really hard.

“We have got a lot of good players sitting out each week. We’ve got three competitive nines, another three props on the side not playing, we’ve got backrowers and centres.

“John’s bred that competition and the massive squad only makes the team better.”
