JOEL Grodowski scored for Bradford City Development Squad in their 2-1 win over York City - less than 24 hours after making his senior debut for the Bantams.

He opened the scoring for City in the 18th minute against York City in their Central League clash at Apperley Bridge today. This followed his bow in City seniors' 2-0 League One defeat at Doncaster Rovers.

In the development clash, Jordan Gibson doubled City's lead three minutes before the break from the penalty spot after Daniel Devine had been brought down.

Josh Law - brother of City midfielder Nicky Law - pulled a goal back for York just past the hour mark.

Along with the trio of Grodowski, Gibson and Devine, fellow professionals Lukas Raeder, Dominic Poleon, Callum Gunner, Jacob Hanson, Kai Bruenker and Cameron Hawkes all also started the reserve-level fixture.

Bruenker had a hand in Grodowski's opener; when the powerful forward get the better of York defender Clovis Kamdjo to tee up Grodowski, who finished into the far corner from 12 yards out.

The Bantams made a triple substitution at the break, with Daniel Pybus, Ellis Hudson and apprentice Reece Powell replacing Grodowski, Bruenker and Devine.

Raeder produced a smart reflex save early after the restart to tip over a drive from York midfielder Theo Wharton.

Law scored for the Minstermen when his angled drive from just inside the box squirmed through the grasp of Raeder before bouncing in off the inside of the far post.

City: Raeder, Farrar, Hefele, Gunner, Hanson, Devine (Powell 46), Hawkes, Gibson, Poleon, Grodowski (Pybus 46), Bruenker (Hudson 46). Subs not used: Sykes-Kenworthy, Webb-Foster
