CITY must use their upcoming TV appearances to show play-off rivals they are still in the race.

Tonight’s trip to Doncaster is the first of three games being broadcast live.

The Bantams need to get back on track quickly to revive their bid to catch the top six after a wretched spell without a win since New Year’s Day.

Colin Doyle believes the Keepmoat clash offers the chance to draw a line in the sand.

He said: “Other teams might be looking at us and thinking ‘Bradford are gone’. I am not sure.

“We haven’t won in a long time but I look at Rotherham and think, ‘They are what can happen’.

“Rotherham had a horrible run but then went on a stupid run of 12 unbeaten. We would love to do that.

“We are too good to be on this bad run.”

Doyle is clear to play after Simon Grayson spoke to Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill.

The City keeper is in the squad for their friendly against Turkey in Ankara on Friday and the squad are flying out today.

But Doyle said: “We are sorting something out, meaning I can meet up later.

“The gaffer knows Martin O’Neill really well because he played for him at Leicester. They had a chat to see if I could fly out after.”

Doyle is one of three shot-stoppers named in the Republic squad, with Sheffield Wednesday’s Keiren Westwood still recovering from a long-term injury.

After being sidelined himself for some time, Doyle is delighted to be back in the ranks and feels he can still make his mark.

He added: “It was disappointing not to get to the World Cup. But I want to be involved in the future.

“I am 32, which is still young for a goalkeeper. I have a few years left. To be involved for your country, whether you play or don’t play, is an honour.

“It would be great to get a game, maybe the end of the season or whatever. I want to be involved for as long as I can.”

O’Neill’s goalkeeping coach Seamus McDonagh has been keeping tabs on Doyle, who knows that a solid performance in front of a national TV audience can only boost his chances.

“If I can play well for Bradford that can only help,” he said. “Seamus, the goalkeeping coach, has been here a few times to watch me.

“He was pleased with what he saw. He also couldn’t believe how many supporters we got for League One.

“He keeps saying, ‘You need to get up, you need to get up’. I agree.

“We have three Sky games coming up now that, hopefully, I can do well in. But the main thing is we get the three points.”
