ECCLESHILL United drew their Northern Under-19 Alliance League encounter with Steeton 2-2 on a bitterly cold evening.

The Eagles went ahead when Dylan Stranney scored with a good side-foot finish into the bottom corner but visitors Steeton hit back with two quick goals by Ben Clarkson before half-time.

United dominated the second half and were rewarded when Zac Sangster scored 20 minutes in with a volley from a corner that was not cleared.

Kevin Pedro nearly grabbed the winner for Eccleshill but his shot hit a post.

Eagles manager Lee Elam said: "Our man of the match was the centre midfield man Tom Storey."
