AFTER playing six cup games in their last seven outings, Brighouse Town resume their promotion push tomorrow by visiting pace-setters Liverpool Marshall Feds.

Town are five points behind the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division One leaders, but have three games in hand due to their cup exploits – their latest efforts seeing them eliminated in the League Cup quarter-finals by Blackburn.

A win tomorrow wouldn’t see them move up from third, but it would close the gap at the top and give them a huge boost in their hopes of moving up divisions.

In the Reserve Northern Division, Leeds, second from bottom, travel to leaders Blackburn, Guiseley Vixens visit a Sheffield United side at the foot of the table, and Bradford City welcome Middlesbrough in a top five clash.

North East Regional Women’s Football League outfit Farsley Celtic fell to a 4-0 defeat at leaders Durham Cestria last weekend, but have the opportunity to bounce back against lower-league Harrogate Railway in the League Cup.

In the West Riding County Women’s Football League, Bradford Park Avenue and Leeds Medics & Dentists clash in the Premier Division, both on ten points from nine games.

In the First Division, Farsley’s second-placed reserves – fresh off the back of a 4-1 win at Brighouse Athletic – take on second-bottom Dewsbury Rangers, who lost 4-1 last time out against Republica Internationale.

Farsley’s development side suffered a narrow loss to Lower Hopton in the Second Division last weekend, losing 3-2 as the leaders maintained their 100 per cent record, and will hope to show that fighting spirit against third-placed Skipton Town tomorrow.

Meanwhile, newly-crowned Third Division champions Thackley visit Ilkley Town with the pressure off, while Tyersal are looking to move back into second, at the expense of Ilkley, as they host Durkar Devils.
