KENNY Black admitted he was under no pressure to leave City.

Stuart McCall's former number two quit yesterday after nearly 20 months at the club. His decision came 11 days after McCall was sacked.

Black stressed he had made up his own mind and was not forced in any way following the arrival of new boss Simon Grayson.

He said: "This is my personal decision to leave. There was certainly no pressure at all from the club itself, or from Simon and Glynn (Snodin) to leave.

"They were more than happy to keep all the current staff in place. I came in with Stuart and this decision is really to do with my loyalty to him.

"I was more than happy to stay on for these past two games (against Bury and Charlton) to help oversee the transition but now I feel it is the right time to move on.

"I leave with some tremendous memories of the club and the people connected with it.

"Apart from the play-off final last season and the run of form we endured this January, everything else was extremely positive.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed working with the set of players we've had during my time at the club.

"Hopefully the current group of players here can still make it a successful end to the season for the club."
