RYAN Lowe has breathed new life into Bury’s seemingly-hopeless relegation fight.

The rock-bottom Shakers looked gone after Chris Lucketti was sacked last month.

But former striker Lowe has stepped up to take seven points from nine since taking charge for the second time this season.

They are still nine points away from safety but an impressive win at Oxford and another at home to Wimbledon on Tuesday have shown they intend to go down fighting.

James Hanson, who is desperate to be involved at Valley Parade tomorrow, is still looking for the first goal of his loan spell from Sheffield United.

After starting four games, he came off the bench in the midweek win at Gigg Lane. Bury youth product George Miller, back at the club on loan from Middlesbrough, scored for the third successive outing.

Hanson said: “We’re going to try and win every game now. What have we got to lose?

“We knew we had to go to Oxford and win last week and that’s the same with every game now. We have to pick up as many points as possible and the lads are confident.”
