CAMPION his back from a first-half deficit to earn a 2-2 draw at Hallam and extend their unbeaten run in Division One of the Northern Counties East League to six games.

The black and reds had opened the scoring at Sandygate early on when the in-form Devonte Morton netted his fifth goal in four games.

The home side levelled when Micah Bishop raced down the flank before cutting in and netting a shot across the face of Campion keeper Dan Armitage.

The hosts then took a lead into the break after the visitors conceded a penalty late in the half. Pat Carrig was fouled in the area and Jake Currie beat Armitage from the spot.

Tom Robinson scored Campion's equaliser nine minutes into the second period after a good move and Aidan Day, who had provided Morton with his early opener, again claimed the assist.

The result meant that James Bicknell's men retained eighth place and remain four points ahead of Hallam, who are two places lower.

Rivals ECCLESHILL UNITED were thwarted by a postponement as their trip to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic was off due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Eagles stay in second place but are now five points behind Knaresborough Town after the leaders' 1-0 home win over mid-table Swallownest.

There was more frustration for Bradford area sides as LIVERSEDGE'S game at Parkgate in the Premier Division and SILSDEN'S in Division One of the Hallmark Security League were both shelved due to unplayable pitches.

The Cobbydalers had been scheduled to journey to Stoke to take on Abbey Hulton United but the postponement did not cost Danny Forrest's side.

Silsden are still 15 points clear at the top after seven of the ten games in the division also fell foul of the weather.
