CITY have been hauled in for extra training today after suffering a fourth loss on the bounce at Rotherham.

Last night’s 2-0 defeat at the New York Stadium extended the wretched run this month and left boss Stuart McCall livid.

He cancelled the squad’s planned day-off after a wretched performance, accusing the team of accepting their fate after Rotherham’s second goal.

McCall said: “What’s said in the dressing room will stay there. But nobody is under any illusions what a tough period we’re going through at the minute.

“There were no excuses. We can talk about this, that and the other but we had a good enough side out there to do far better – that was the concerning thing.”

For the third game in a row, City came unstuck from a set-piece as Michael Smith headed Rotherham in front.

“I don’t think there was anything in the game first half but we talked about not giving cheap free-kicks away,” added the Bantams boss.

“We’ve got small full backs and a small midfield and we’ve got to be careful because Rotherham are very good at set-plays. The deliveries they put in are top class and Smith’s a big target man.

“The first goal was going to be all important and to give it away in the manner we did again was disappointing.”

Joe Newell increased Rotherham’s lead seven minutes into the second half and McCall was angry that City faded from that point.

They also had to finish with ten men after Tyrell Robinson pulled his hamstring with all three subs used.

McCall said: “It was as if everything was knocked out of us when they got the second goal.

“We said at half-time, regardless of who gets the next goal, you go to the final whistle.

“Going down to ten men for the last 20 minutes was tough but we didn’t do anything.”
