PARK Avenue's academy match away to Campsmount Academy was abandoned after a serious injury to youngster Joshua Hall.

It was feared the scholarship player had fractured his ankle following a challenge and was taken to hospital by the Doncaster ambulance service, where doctors diagnosed that no break had occurred.

A statement on Avenue's website, read: "Tally Clayton (club sport rehabilitator) attended hospital with Josh and was happy to report after seeing a number of doctors, no fracture was found.

"However, Josh has suffered some nerve damage from the impact and currently cannot feel the lower portion of his foot and toes.

"This should return to Josh in a couple of days and he will then be able to start his rehabilitation with Tally.

"Both Josh and the Academy staff team would like to thank Campsmount College staff for their assistance in the incident and from all at the club, we wish Josh a speedy recovery."
