BRADFORD Dudley Hill have added two former players to their backroom staff as they prepare for life in Division One of the National Conference League.

Helping head coach Anthony Huby out will be stalwarts Lewis Evans, who has been at Parry Lane since he was an under-eight, and Lee O'Connor, who joined a little later in life but has also given great service as a player from juniors to open age.

Hill first-team manager Steve Wright said: "After talking to Anthony about his plans for the upcoming season, I think its fantastic that he has added Lewis and Lee to his staff. They know the club and the lads.

"Lewis has a massive amount of respect due to his playing career at the club and the way he has carried himself over the years.

"Lee will be a firecracker on game-day, getting the lads up for the challenge with his level of enthusiasm."

Wright added: "After discussing new players for the coming season, Anthony wants to put the majority of his faith in the lads who got us promoted due to all the hurdles we overcame last year, plus how tight-knit the group are as players and friends.

"However, he is talking to a couple of former players who have recently been in the pro game about possible returns."

With pre-season about to start, the focus is on the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup game at Loughborough University on the weekend of January 27-28.

Wright said: "We want to get everyone in a position to overcome an expected tough challenge and team and not make the mistakes that were made last time we were in the Challenge Cup."
