BRADFORD Bulls are going back to the future for their 2018 home shirt.

The iconic red, amber and black chevron against a white background, which was unveiled today at a fans' forum at Odsal, is called the Legends of League shirt.

It has been inspired by the 40th anniversary of Bradford Northern's Premiership victory.

That 1978 winning team featured legends of the club, such as Keith Mumby and Alan and David Redfearn – a trio and their counterparts who set the foundations for the success of the Odsal club in the three decades that followed.

The new shirt also features two black sleeves as part of a modern take on a Bradford classic, and is available to pre-order now.

Meanwhile, club captain and former England international Lee Smith was made No 1 when the 2018 squad numbers were revealed at the same event.

Ashley Gibson will wear No 3, Steve Crossley No 10, Matty Garside No 11, Elliot Minchella No 12 and Jamel Goodall No 30 among the 24 shirts allocated so far.
