CITY keeper Colin Doyle has confirmed he will be out for up to three months after seeing a specialist this afternoon.
Boss Stuart McCall feared the Irishman could be out for up to six months having damaged medial knee ligaments against Scunthorpe.
But the number one stated that the injury rehab period should not be as long that following his consultation.
He tweeted: "Gutted to be injured but just back from the knee specialist and it’s better news than we first thought. Be back 8-12 weeks. Time to go batter the ice for a few weeks."
McCall admitted the injury is "a big blow for him and for us but unfortunately that is football and injuries are part and parcel of the game."
In a further blow, striker Alex Jones looks like being out for a month after picking up an ankle injury in training.
