FARSLEY Celtic will be in for a difficult afternoon in the Evo-Stik Premier Division on Saturday as they head to Stafford Rangers.

Stan Collymore’s old club play their football at Marston Road and have a proud tradition in non-league football.

Farsley are currently sixth, just one point and one place outside the play-off places, as they look for a second-successive promotion.

They are five points better off than their hosts but have played a game more than the Midlands outfit.

Farsley have drawn their last two league games, beating neighbours Brighouse Town in the West Riding County Cup second round in between.
However, they may have progressed in the cup but the back-to-back stalemates in the league have dented their play-off aspirations.

But they will be heading to Marston Road in good spirits after last weekend’s 3-3 draw at Buxton. In their previous league game, at home to Workington, they snatched a draw from the jaws of victory as they led 3-1 going into six minutes of stoppage time.

The boot was on the other foot at the Bucks last Saturday as they claimed a point from a 3-3 draw with a last-gasp equaliser from substitute Adam Priestley in a see-saw encounter.

Brighouse will also be buoyant going into their game in Division One North.

Vill Powell’s men host lowly Atherton Collieries and would leapfrog their visitors with a win.
Town have endured a poor season so far and find themselves in the bottom three, but an important win last weekend has lifted spirits and kept them in touch with the lower mid-table sides.

Brighouse came back from a 2-0 half-time deficit to win 3-2 away at Radcliffe Borough, who are on the same points as Atherton.
