THERE were scenes of delirium for the home contingent at the Cobbydale Construction Stadium as Joe Gaughan's injury-time winner extended Silsden's 100 per cent Hallmark Security League start to 13 games.

The Cobbydalers maintained their eight-point lead at the Division One summit after coming from 2-1 down with less than ten minutes to go to beat Carlisle City 3-2 – and last-gasp hero Gaughan had a hand in all three of the home side's goals.

Kyle Hancock pounced to give Silsden a seventh-minute lead when the visiting keeper could only parry a Gaughan free-kick.

Carlisle turned the game round with goals from Ryan Errington and Tom Lucock before the midway point of the first half.

They held that lead until the 81st minute, when Nicky McNally slotted in the equaliser after being played in by Gaughan – and the remarkable comeback was completed when Gaughan grabbed the dramatic winner.

LIVERSEDGE travelled to Ashton Athletic but their FA Vase first-round tie against Hallmark Security League Premier Division outfit Ashton was abandoned after 70 minutes with Sedge trailing 3-0.

The pitch at Brocstedes Park had passed a morning pitch inspection but as Storm Brian worsened, the game had to be called off. The sides will now meet at the same venue on Tuesday.

Sedge's Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division mid-table rivals THACKLEY earned a point with a 2-2 home draw against third-placed Maltby Main.

The Dennyboys took the lead against the run of play when Mike Garrod netted a 20th-minute penalty. They then handed the initiative right back as Maltby netted from the spot two minutes later, both given for silly fouls.

The visitors went in front through Ross Dugan but Garrod equalised just over a minute before the break and the second half was goalless, when a win for Maltby would have taken them to the top of the table.

ALBION SPORTS suffered a 4-2 defeat at Bottesford Town after a dreadful first-half performance that saw Kulwinder Sandhu's Lions trailing 3-0 at the interval.

They rallied after the break with goals by Lamin Janneh and Josh Barden but it was a hat-trick from the home side's Declan Bacon that did most of the damage after Wayne Graves had broken the deadlock midway through the first half.

CAMPION retained fourth place in Division One with a 2-1 home win over second-bottom Retford United.

Bighton Mugadza gave the home side a first-half lead and Tom Robinson doubled it before Bradley Kilner replied with 20 minutes remaining.

ECCLESHILL UNITED'S home game against Ollerton Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
