BULLS could have a real player on their hands in Mikey Wood, according to Huddersfield legend Eorl Crabtree.

Wood has had limited opportunities with the Giants and Crabtree believes the season-long loan is the “perfect move” for the young forward.

Crabtree said: “Mikey is one of those players you wouldn’t consider a flash player but someone who is really strong, has very good ability and will do a lot for the side.

“He is someone that you need in the team to do those little bits of work, especially around the middle.

“He will take that to Bradford because for someone like Mikey Wood this is an opportunity. He won’t see this as being second best, he will see this as his opportunity for regular rugby.

“This is his chance to shine, he isn’t going to add up the numbers, he is going to make a difference in the team.

“I think it is the perfect move for him. In our sport you can get lost and its players such as Mikey that are not getting in the first team but they have nowhere to go.

“Bradford could get a really good player here, someone they may want to keep hold of because he is a quality performer.”
