STUART King (Asa Briggs) won the Victor Ludorum Invitational Merit, sponsored by John Summers (Family Butchers), after beating Mark Regan (Brighouse Sports) 21-6 in a one-sided final at Clayton Victoria.

A total of 16 competition winners and average leaders took part in the end-of-season finale, seeking to become Bradford Champion of Champions.

King took the title for the second time, after first winning it in 2014, with victories over David Burns (Littlemoor S&SC) 21-2, Jason Barker (Hove Edge) 21-12 and John Armitage (Littlemoor S&SC) 21-15 on his way to the final.

Regan defeated James Wilcox (Crossgates) 21-19, Stewart Firth (Harold Park) 21-16 and Scott Bloodworth (Ladyhill) 21-13 to secure his progress.

* SHEFFIELD side Meersbrook won the Yorkshire Parks Victory Cup, defeating Pudsey in the final.

This year's competition was held in the Hebden Royd area, with the final at Todmorden.

Pudsey eased through to the decider with comfortable wins over New Farnley and Tadcaster, while Meersbrook advanced by defeating Rufford Ladies and Rufford.

Meersbrook were always in control, thanks to wins from Andy Whitaker 21-8, Andy Sorsby 21-13 and Dean Missere 21-14, leading by 25 chalks after five jacks.

Despite a great 21-8 effort from Ian Shaw for Pudsey, Meersbrook held on to their lead and eventually won by 31 chalks.
