A RECORD of five wins and a draw out of seven matches was not enough to bring Bradford City boss Stuart McCall the Sky Bet League One manager of the month award for September.

The prize went to Paul Hurst of leaders Shrewsbury Town, who notched six wins and a draw over the same period.

Player of the month was Portsmouth's Brett Pitman.

Bristol City duo Lee Johnson and Aiden Flint were manager of the month and player of the month respectively in the Sky Bet Championship, while League Two winners were Kevin Nolan (manger, Notts County) and Shaquile Coulthirst (player, Barnet).

Former Bantams player Don Goodman, who summarises for Sky Sports on the EFL, was one of the judging panel.
