HER TERMS can defy top weight in the ISG Fillies' Handicap at Bath.

She was beginning to look frustrating for William Haggas having finished second four times but in nine runs for the Newmarket handler she was unable to break her duck.

Switched to the red-hot Clive Cox, she was narrowly beaten on her first run for her new yard and then finally got off the mark last time out at Brighton.

Even though she only scraped home on that occasion, the confidence of finally winning might help her defy a 3lb higher mark.

Cox remains in excellent form and being by Pivotal you would expect the easier ground to be in her favour.

Cox may also be on the mark in the opening Dribuild Group Fillies' Novice Median Auction Stakes with Fashion Sense.

The daughter of Clodovil finished a respectable third of eight on her debut at Ascot.

Cox's youngsters tend to improve a good deal for their initial experience but there are a few in here who could also do the same.

Adam Kirby is an interesting booking on Neil Mulholland's Just For The Craic in the M J Church Nursery Handicap.

Winner of a seller for Ruth Carr, Mulholland only had to go to £3,000 to get him.

Last on his debut at Bath, he took a big leap forward last time out to finish fifth of 15 at Chepstow.

A reproduction of that effort will see him go even closer in this low-grade event.

Souriyan has been hit hard by the handicapper for an easy win last time out but he is worth sticking with in the All New racinguk.com Handicap Hurdle at Stratford.

Peter Bowen's six-year-old has been beset by problems since looking promising a couple of years ago.

He finished 11th in the Fred Winter off a mark of 133 for Jamie Snowden but he had not won a race since then.

Moved on to Bowen, he dropped even further in the handicap but a spin on the flat and a first-time visor reinvigorated him last time out.

He bolted up by an eased-down 10 lengths and looks to have turned a corner.

This is a better race and he is 12lb higher but when Bowen's horses bounce back they are worth sticking with until beaten.

It will be interesting to see how much ability Paul Nicholls' Emerging Talent retains in the Racing Partnership TRP Novices' Chase in Newton Abbot survives an inspection.

A three-time winner over timber, he was forced to miss the whole of last season with a setback.

Prior to that he always looked the type to excel over bigger obstacles and now we get the chance to see it.

In a decent race at Exeter over timber he was sent off favourite to beat none other than Native River and he ended up rated 137 over hurdles.
