WARWICKSHIRE took lunch with a lead of 59 and seven second-innings wickets in hand on day three against Yorkshire at Headingley.

The hosts are chasing a crucial Specsavers County Championship victory in their penultimate match of the season to boost their fight against relegation from Division One.

Warwickshire advanced from 49-1 overnight to 136-3, having started their second innings with a deficit of 77.

Yorkshire could have easily had more rewards than the two wickets they took in swinging and seaming conditions.

Jack Brooks had opener Liam Banks (29) caught behind and Steve Patterson removed Ian Bell (14) the same way, although off an inside edge.

Visiting captain Jonathan Trott reached 50 off 72 balls and was unbeaten on 57 at the interval, with Matt Lamb 18 not out.
