SALTS took full advantage of their West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division rivals being involved in first-round League Cup action to open a four-point advantage.

They had a 4-2 home success over Huddersfield-based DRAM Community, with Jonny Cunningham, Brandon Haman, Andy Boote and substitute Ryan Whitfield scoring for Salts, with Tebo M’Pala and Marcus Paul hitting the net for DRAM.

Campion followed up their 3-0 midweek success against Steeton by putting six past last season’s champions Lower Hopton, with Ross Kelly, Carl Trennery, Chris Helliwell, Matthias Britton, Nathan Edden and Jaro Parchment all scoring.

Littletown, who won the Premier Division Cup last season, booked their place in the second round after beating Lepton Highlanders 3-1, with Joe Jagger netting a hat-trick and Jacob Robertson replying.

Golcar United, who were beaten finalists, won through to the next round with two goals from Ryan John and one by Craig Cartwright in their 3-2 win at Britannia Sports.

Steeton had to come from behind at home to Wakefield City before running out 5-2 victors, Nash Connolly gave Wakefield an early advantage before Alex Yates equalised and then edged his side ahead, only for Rob Bloomfield to equalise.

Tom Sowerbutts (2) and Joe Park then scored to secure victory for the hosts.

With West Horton, TVR United and Bradford FC all without a fixture as they celebrated Eid, a reduced fixture list was played in Division One.

Ovenden West Riding had strikes from Martin Woodhouse, Scott Eastwood and Andrew Butterworth in a 3-2 win at Golcar United Reserves as they extended their winning start to four successive victories.

Overthorpe SC had goals from Nicky Croisdale and Jack Allerton in their 2-0 win at Tingley Athletic, while Steeton Reserves won 2-1 at newcomers Unita.
