FARSLEY Celtic have had a very promising start to the season in the Evo-Stik Premier Division following their promotion, but with six points on offer over the bank holiday weekend they will be more clear about their prospects by Tuesday.

Adam Lakeland’s side host Rushall Olympic on Saturday and, after four games, the Celts have twice as many points as the Pics.

Farsley are unbeaten in their four games and sit second in the early table, with James Walshaw and Nathan Cartman plundering their goals.

The Pics lost their opening two games but beat Stalybridge Celtic 1-0 last weekend and drew 4-4 at Barwell in midweek.

The Celts are just one point off the summit, with Stafford Rangers heading the pack.

Farsley head to tenth-placed Shaw Lane on Monday.

Brighouse Town also face a demanding three days with a home game against Tadcaster Albion on Monday following Saturday's trip to AFC Goole.

Vill Powell’s Town will be wary of a backlash at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds as they face a Vikings side yet to win a game after back-to-back league defeats and an exit from the FA Cup.

Town are also looking for a reaction after being knocked out of the cup.

They are smarting after losing a five-goal thriller to an injury-time strike at Bamber Bridge, with the Preston club top of Division One North.

Brig won their opening two league games, one of them being a 6-1 thrashing of the Vikings, so it was a tough draw for Powell’s men.
