SALTS travelled to Mirfield on Saturday to meet last season’s West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division champions Lower Hopton, and came away with a shock 10-3 victory.

Jamie Birchall and Bradley Holland both scored hat-tricks to add to braces from Andrew Boote and Jonny Cunningham, while Ryan Buckley (2) and Michael Clark replied for Hopton.

After two consecutive home victories against DRAM Community and Route One Rovers, Steeton let a 2-0 first-half lead slip to lose 3-2 to Lepton Highlanders.

Strikes from Ben Clarkson and Bill Sowerbutts put Steeton in charge before Jacob Robertson (2) and Joshua Cooke replied.

Littletown made it three wins from three with an 8-1 victory at DRAM Community.

Ovenden West Riding piled on the goals in their Division Two home game against Lower Hopton Reserves, with five from John Booth, three from Scott Eastwood, including a penalty, two apiece from Damian Randall and Terry Ryan and one each from Lewis Stead, Martin Woodhouse and Andrew Butterworth in a 15-1 scoreline, with Dale Hanson bagging the consolation.

West Horton fell one short of double figures at Bradford FC as Sameer Ahmed (3) led the way, with James Chadwick, Fabian Evans, Kashyf Qureshi, Muneen Hyder, Hassan Khan and Ryan Samson chipping in with a goal each in their 9-1 win.

Abid Khan scored all three goals as TVR United beat newcomers Unita FC 3-1.

Hunsworth kicked off their season with a 5-0 setback at Golcar United Reserves, while Steeton Reserves were beaten 2-0 at Tingley Athletic, and Salts Reserves and Overthorpe had to settle for a point each following a 0-0 draw.
