WAYNE Moseley (Crosland Moor) and Steven Gilroy (Crossgates) were week six qualifiers, while Stuart King (Asa Briggs) and Mark Hughes (Crossgates) were week seven qualifiers in the Pudsey Classic.

Moseley defeated team-mate Gary Siswick 21-19 in the final qualifying game, while Gilroy edged out Darren Plenderleith (North Midlands) 21-20.

King was in terrific form, beating Paul Rooks (Eccleshill) 21-5, Glen Smith (Leeds) 21-6 and Andrew Sykes (Mirfield Old Bank) 21-14 to again qualify for the finals, while Hughes defeated Callum Wraight (Shropshire) 21-17 in the final qualifying game.

The last qualifying takes place this weekend.

Steven Gilroy (Crossgates) and Graeme Wilson (Lower Hopton) were the latest qualifiers in the Rastrick Classic.

Gilroy defeated Andy Webb (Castleford) 21-18 in the last game, while Wilson beat Gary Smith (Leeds) 21-16 to progress to the finals.

Gilroy made it a great weekend, qualifying for both Rastrick and Pudsey finals.

The Spen Masters Invitational 16, sponsored by P&I Hopkins Butchers, takes place at Spen Victoria on Saturday, September 2 (5pm).

The sponsors are celebrating their 30th anniversary and are backing the event for an eighth straight year.

The competition sees 16 players competing for a first prize of £600, and total prize-money is in the region of £1,500.

Refreshments are available from 4pm, with the bar open from noon.

Bradford take on Halifax tomorrow afternoon in their final Veterans' Inter-District League match, which is a title decider.

Bradford go into the match with a five-point advantage but will not be underestimating their opponents.

The home match takes place at Wibsey Park, with the away match at Greenroyd (full report in next week's T&A).
