YORKSHIRE lost their final group game in this year’s British Parks Senior Team Championship 21-10 to the East Midlands, who progress to the semi-finals.

The white rose struggled throughout, only managing six home winners, with Marc Armitage (Littlemoor) 21-6 and Richard Stockdale (Eccleshill) 21-8 being the pick of them as the hosts won by a mere 15 chalks.

In the away match at Stretton, only Paul Rooks (Eccleshill) 21-14 and Matthew Jacques (Shipley Club) 21-19 won for Yorkshire as the East Midlands triumphed by 53 chalks to end Yorkshire’s hopes this season.

Yorkshire suffered a 426-393 defeat against Warwick & Worcester in their final group game of the Ladies' County Championship, but found that they had still done enough to top Section One and progress to a semi-final against South Yorkshire on Sunday, August 20.

In the home match at Golcar Liberal Club, Yorkshire carded eight winners, with Chloe Ghaffar and Lorraine Hirst the pick of them with 21-10s as Yorkshire won the aggregate by only 16 chalks.

Yorkshire struggled in the away match at a tricky Woodbourne Sports Club, losing the aggregate by 49 chalks, despite carding four winners, with Alexis Lunn-Gadd starring with a 21-10.
