SECOND-placed Embsay blew their chances of going back to the top of Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One.

With Ingrow St John’s on a free week, Embsay slumped to defeat against bottom side Crossflatts at Ryshworth Park.

The home side had been pegged back to 127-5 (Harris Hussain 37) in the 37th over only for Jim O’Hara (62no) and Joe Lynch (26no) to take them to 202-5 some eight overs later, Scott Robinson being the most successful bowler with 3-41.

After 15 overs of the reply, the Shires Lane side stood at 35-7 before some tail-wagging got them to 130.

Robinson (44) and Ben Keane (24no) put on 68 for the last wicket as Alex Bradbury (5-36) and O’Hara (3-32) did the damage with the ball.

Sutton go above Embsay after they saw off Denholme by eight wickets at Royd Hill.

Toby Priestley made 65 of the visitors' 163 as Justin Holdsworth claimed 4-54.

David Snowden (72no) and Sam Solley (47) put on 151 for the second wicket as the hosts strolled home.

Oakworth, who have yet to win at home, have picked up the knack of winning away from home.

On Saturday, they went over the border to face Barrowford and rattled up 248-9, with Ben Howell hitting a superb 100 off 101 balls (12 fours, two sixes), Jordan Powell blasting 57 (five fours, three sixes) as Majid Iqbal (4-52) and Ashir Imdad (4-61) got among the wickets.

The Bull Holme side replied with 183-8, led by Freddie Bailey (49) and Imdad (36) as Jack Davison claimed 4-50 and Joe Copperwaite 3-7.

Sam Porter (86) and Chris Dibb (55) put on 106 for Bingley Congs' second wicket at Hepworth & Idle, and steady batting set up a terrific score of 293-6.

The Westfield Lane side replied with a creditable 185-9 of which Gary Sagar made 95 as Matt Roberts claimed 5-48.

Goher Ayoub (35) top-scored as Haworth Road posted 179 in Bronteland.

Will Yildiz (4-36) and Damian Rowell (3-42) were the best bowlers but Haworth wilted to 61 in only 21 overs as Zahir Abbas (5-27) and Aftab Khan (4-14) ripped through their batting.

In Division Two, the usual free-scoring batting of leaders Haworth Road II were a little muted as they only made 162-9, with Matthew Hall making 50 as Tamoor Mushtaq claimed 3-30.

Visitors Foulridge were restricted to 116, with Muhammad Atique making 46 as Shahid Mahmood took 4-23 and Rob Greenwood 3-35.

Ingrow are still a point behind after seeing off Glusburn by 100 runs at Park Field.

Ben Weatherill (47no) and Jake Hoyle (46) helped the visitors to 192 as Mark Pickles took 5-58.

The home side were hustled out for 92, with Hoyle (4-15) and Chris Herbert (4-40) doing the damage.

Ingrow St John’s are third after a 35-run victory at Long Lee.

First-teamer Omar Khatab and Sarum Qureshi both made 35 as Shahbaz Ahmed took 6-45.

The Golden View side closed on 140, with Matt Stowell top scoring with 25 as Ikhkaq Ahmed took 4-14.

Next-to-bottom Sandy Lane restricted Wilsden to 125 at Greenwood Park, with Mukhtar Shah taking 4-42 and Saleem Ismail 3-18.

The hosts were then knocked over for 103, of which Zeesham Aslam made 44 as Rafaquat Mahmood took 6-20.

Ten-man bottom side Oakworth II were hustled out for 87.

Thomas Fothergill was top-scorer with 27 and Jonny Lockley was the best bowler with 5-25.

Visitors Chatburn encountered few problems, losing two wickets before snaffling the points.

Ten-man Cowling were dismissed for 115 at Airedale.

The Bradford Road side waltzed home by five wickets in the 25th over, with Mathew Cox making 45.

Cononley now have a six-point lead at the top of Division Three after they beat second-placed Bradley at the Coulthurst Ground.

Scott Brook (74) and Cameron Knowles (47) put on 117 for the first wicket and, together with Andy Starkey (54), helped the hosts to 239-6.

The Matthew Lane side replied with 177, with evergreens Neil Andrews (34) and John Drake (30) being the leading scorers.

In an exciting finish which went down to the penultimate ball, Bingley Congs II got home by two wickets at Beckfoot Lane.

Visitors Barrowford II made 214, with Andy Makin (43) and Abdul Mannan (37) being the main run-getters as Ben Hemsley (3-34) and Josh Zenner (3-47) were the best bowlers.

The home side had Tim Burnley (92) and Dave Tarren (39) leading the successful chase, which puts Congs into second.

Steve Timperley (63) and an undefeated sixth-wicket partnership by Jim Keighley (61no) and Arnie Raistrick (55no) helped Eldwick & Gilstead to 220-5 at Wagon Lane.

Sandy Lane II crumpled to 116 as Raistrick (5-15) got among the wickets.

Bottom side Riddlesden are still winless after they went down by 67 runs to Skipton CI at Grange Road.

The Sandylands side scored 219-9 on the back of a third-wicket partnership of 123 by Paul Mason (58) and Martin Chisnall (56), together with 30 not out from Sam Smith.

The experienced John Stuttard (6-49) then helped restrict the home side to 152.

Will Smith had a cracking game for Gargrave at Thornton-in-Craven.

Firstly he made 47 to help his side to 147, with Joe Wood making 33 and Mark Laycock taking 5-38.

Then he took 3-23 and held five catches as the Booth Bridge Laners closed 46 runs short of their target, Ben Rhodes taking 4-35.

Embsay II must have been kicking themselves after throwing away a good chance of victory over Bradford & Bingley at Shires Lane.

The visitors were 112-9 before Ibrahim Butt (24no) and Matthew Sharp (15) got them to 156 as Steve Speak took 5-33.

The home side were 77-1 and cruising it when the wheels fell off, and they closed 11 runs short, with Sharp taking 4-21 and Farhan Khalid 3-39.

New Division Four A leaders Haworth II were at Skipton CI II and were victorious by five wickets.

Hepworth & Idle II rattled up 268-7 at Bradley II, with Phillip Haigh making a superb 103 and Jamie Topham 93 as Toby Maynell took 3-30 and under-17 player George Bell 3-68.

Bell followed this with 47 as the Matthew Lane side replied with 127-9.

Chatburn II just held off Cononley II by 16 runs, Paul Hogg (5-26 and 39) performing well for the losers.

'Silver Fox' Steve Dalby scored 92 and Sohail Khan 60 as Cowling amassed 242-5 at The Coliseum.

Visitors Airedale II replied with 177m with Tim Crossley (39) and Jamie Spencer (31) being the top scorers.

Denholme II saw off Glusburn II by six wickets at Bradford Road, and Foulridge II beat nine-man Oakworth II by seven wickets at Noyna, despite 30 from under-14 player Ellis Marshall.

Division Four B leaders Silsden were hustled out for just 99 at Gargrave II, with Andy Pullen scoring 37 as Rob Storr (5-26) and Will Storr (3-13) got among the wickets.

Only Thomas Storr (16) made double figures as the Skipton Road side were blasted out for a meagre 33, however, with Keiran Lawrence (7-7) and Will Pullen (3-21) bowling through.

The day’s highest score of 313-6 came on the back of an unbelievable 193 by Raza Ali, which lasted just 118 balls and included ten fours and 21 sixes for Wilsden II at Windy Grove.

Visitors Long Lee went down by 211 runs as they replied with 101. of which No 9 Matt Mounsey made 34 as Mudassar Riaz took 3-9 and Paul Kirby 3-15.
