LEIGH Beattie believes a surprise victory over Hull KR – and finally hitting zero points in the process – could transform the Bulls' season.

It has certainly been a rollercoaster week at Odsal, with the long-awaited return of favourite son Dane Chisholm tempered by the news that skipper Leon Pryce has decided to hang up his boots after a stellar career.

Regardless of the comings and goings, interim head coach Beattie has revealed his squad are "bouncing" ahead of tonight's Summer Bash clash in Blackpool.

He insists the Kingstone Press Championship leaders could be in for a tough evening as his side aim to return to winning ways in the best possible style.

"It will be a real challenge but we've got to go for it," said Beattie.

"We've had some disappointing results in recent weeks and we're all hurting but this week it's been pretty good.

"The enthusiasm has been there and they've been bouncing, so hopefully we can deliver a bit and have a fair go on Saturday night.

"We need to rediscover some confidence, that's what we've been aiming for this week. We need to stop these points against us, defend loads better and we need to be better in the ruck.

"We've been trying to fix those things up and then we'll move on again – they have been our goals this week.

"A win against KR would be massive for our confidence leading up to the game (against Dewsbury) next week. But we're not even thinking about Dewsbury yet.

"We'll concentrate on Saturday and see what we get out of it. A win would get us back to zero and that would bring a massive boost in confidence to the boys."
