Bradford City Women were crowned West Riding County Cup champions for a fourth successive season after a 3-0 win over Brighouse Town.

Two goals from Ellie Olds and a strike from Jess Graham clinched victory for the Bantams, as they ended the campaign on a high.

And after a difficult season on and off the pitch, following a whole host of summer changes, player-manager Charlotte Stuart could not be prouder of her team.

“The girls undoubtedly deserve that trophy,” she said. “They have been the best team all competition.

“It's an unbelievable feeling and a well deserved title.”

After a bright start with several chances created, City took the lead midway through the first half as Olds ran free of her marker and tapped in at the back post.

Playing a new formation, with two up top and a diamond in midfield, the Bantams dominated the game and deservedly extended their lead after the break.

Olds was on hand to double her and her team’s tally, producing an emphatic close range finish, before Graham wrapped things up late in the second half after great work by Abi Lee.

“The performance was faultless,” Stuart added. “The new formation we played really suits us.

“We've worked hard over the past couple of weeks to fine-tune it and the hard work has paid off.

“The girls can now enjoy a little rest and get themselves ready for next season.”
