METHLEY and Scholes have maintained their perfect starts to the new season by collecting their third 20-point hauls in the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Championship Division One.

Scholes defeated Birstall by 160 runs, while Methley secured a 30-run victory at Gomersal.

Overseas player Akbar Badshah is certainly making a good impression with Scholes.

He made a sparkling 127, containing one six and 15 fours, which helped his side to post 268-8.

Skipper James Stansfield weighed in with 39, while the best of the Birstall bowlers was Haris Mohammed with 4-49.

Birstall, still searching for their first win, were bowled out for 108 as Gareth Lee picked up 4-3 and Yassir Ali 3-22. Mick Kaye's 32 not out was the best score for Birstall.

Methley's new overseas player Muhammad Akhlaq was dismissed for the first time in a league match when he was out for 27 at Gomersal, where his opening partner Marcus Walmsley stole the limelight.

He hit three sixes and 13 fours in his fine knock of 98, while Jordan Laban made 40 as Methley set up their win by scoring 241-8, spinner Chris Rhodes being the best of the home bowlers with 4-53.

New signing Joe Duffy top-scored with 60 and Graham Hilton made 44 in Gomersal's 211.

Marcus Walmsley completed a fine all-round performance by taking 4-52, while his twin brother Eddie picked up 3-44.

New Zealander Matt Holstein proved his worth to Wrenthorpe as he made important contributions with bat and ball as they defeated Baildon by 38 runs to record their third win.

Holstein's 41 backed up the efforts of James Glynn (51) in Wrenthorpe's 186-8, and followed up with 4-14 as he and Jonathan Sleightholme (3-40) helped dismiss Baildon for 148.

Jonny Reynolds made 51 for Baildon, while their overseas fast bowler Waqas Maqsood took 5-45 in the Wrenthorpe innings.

Undercliffe are another side with three wins under their belts after defeating Bankfoot by three wickets.

In-form left-arm seamer Craig Wiseman continued his good start to the season with 4-44, while skipper Scott Etherington took 3-35 as Bankfoot were bowled out for 166.

Prangige Peiris continued his good form with an unbeaten 70 but lacked support.

Gulsheraz Ahmed made sure that Undercliffe reached their target with an important innings of 88 not out, while Jack Holland made a solid 49.

Akash Gopal was Bankfoot's best bowler with 3-34.

Morley's Richard Jubb made his maiden Bradford Premier League century but ended on the losing side as his team went down by two wickets at Bowling Old Lane.

Jubb struck two sixes and 12 fours in his unbeaten 104 and shared a third-wicket stand of 177 with new Sri Lankan all-rounder Sangeth Cooray (75).

Old Lane opener Abid Alishan (64) gave his team a sound base, which enabled Sadaqat Zaman to launch the decisive late assault which took his side to victory.

He hit three sixes and nine fours to see his side home with eight balls to spare.

Matthew Dowse was Morley's most successful bowler with 3-52.

Little is going right for Ossett so far this season.

They were bowled out for just 88 as they suffered a six-wicket defeat at Yeadon.

Spinners James Massheder (5-36) and Muhammad Altaf (3-15) put the skids under Ossett as Yeadon recorded a welcome win.
