STUART McCall expressed his pride in his players after City confirmed their play-off place in emphatic fashion.
Today’s 3-0 home win over Wimbledon guaranteed at least fifth spot with one game to go.
Tony McMahon (2) and Mark Marshall made sure the Bantams finished the campaign unbeaten at Valley Parade.
McCall was delighted to bounce straight back after the 3-0 loss at champions Sheffield United.
“I’m really pleased for the squad of players after a lot of over-reaction from last Monday,” said the City boss. “Players hurt and we were all disappointed.
“Three times this season they’ve let themselves and the supporters down – home to Accrington, Shrewsbury away and last Monday. Over 40 odd games, I think they’ve been terrific.
“I’m proud of them but it’s a team thing. The support again today was outstanding.
“It was a really strong, professional performance from every one of the players.
“I challenged the boys after the Fleetwood and Bolton games to win seven of the last 13 to get to 74 points. They’ve won eight out of 12, which is superb.
“All parts of the team are functioning well, backed up by a fantastic backroom staff. We’re absolutely delighted.”
