BRADFORD Disability Football Club's under-16 team are through to the national finals of the The FA People's Cup, which will be held in Birmingham on the bank holiday weekend of April 30-May 1.

After winning the West Riding final in Halifax, the teenagers, who are funded by the Community Foundation's short- breaks programme, went through to the regional semi-finals at Manchester’s Power League Central.

Bradford played in a league of seven teams, and finished third after winning four matches and losing two.

They then played locals Heyside Juniors, who had won all six of their league games.

However, Bradford took a 1-0 lead and held on until Heyside scored a last-minute equaliser.

Bradford then held their nerve in the shoot-out, winning 2-1 to earn the right to face Shelley FC from Huddersfield, who they had beaten 3-1 earlier in the day.

After a staggering start, in which Bradford went 3-0 up in four minutes, Shelley racked up the tension by scoring twice, only for Bradford to get a fourth.

If Bradford win the grand final, they will not only receive tickets to the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, May 27, but will be presented with their trophy, alongside the other category winners, in front of 90,000 fans!
