DANIEL Murray cannot wait for party time at Odsal.

The on-loan Salford prop is ready to celebrate the moment the Bulls finally wipe out their points deficit.

“The zero party has been called but we’ll see!” smiled the 21-year-old. “Hopefully in the next month we can get back to the zero.

“In the next few weeks, we’ve got a great chance to do that.”

With the Bulls halfway to knocking off the minus-12 point penalty dished out by the RFL, Murray is relishing his role in the fightback.

His initial loan from the Super League club was up on Monday but he has willingly signed on a week-to-week basis with their blessing.

His parent club want to build up the game-time of the forward, who joined them on a two-year deal from Warrington before the start of the campaign.

Murray added: “I went to (head coach) Ian Watson and asked what he wanted me to do.

“I’m going well, developing the way he wants me to and I’m getting the minutes.

“He was happy for me to sign week-to-week and Bradford are happy for me to carry on here and contribute to getting it down to the zero.”

Out of sight does not mean out of mind for Salford who will continue to keep tabs on the young talent.

“I get phone calls every week asking how I’ve gone and what things I need to improve on. That’s very encouraging for me.

“It’s very easy for someone to go on loan and then forget about them. But Salford have kept in touch and I went back last week and everyone was very welcoming.”

Murray returns to the squad to face Dewsbury after sitting out last week’s Challenge Cup exit. He has been impressed by the standard of the Championship.

“It’s physical and quick and it’s what I need.

“Playing against big blokes as well toughens you up, so it’s perfect for me.

“It’s much better than just training every week. I need to be playing to improve.

“Against Batley I was definitely finding my ‘wind’ and getting on top of people. I’m getting back to how I was last year when I was playing.”

With Dewsbury’s visit to Odsal followed by games with Oldham and Sheffield, Bulls have a big opportunity to reach level pegging on April 9.

The home side will start from the unusual position of firm favourites against the Rams, who have lost all five of their games so far.

Murray added: “I’m not a betting man myself but it’s nice to see external parties are looking on and have faith in us. It’s a step in the right direction.

“I’m really enjoying the challenge. It’s a great motivation to help the club get back to where they want to be.

“The fans are getting behind us and doing a great job as well.

“We’re playing teams around us in the next few weeks so they are great opportunities to show the league what we are about.

“They can see we are building. We have definitely got things to work on but we’re improving each week.

“We’ve got a great chance coming up to get to zero.”
