GUISELEY face yet another tough journey and a stern test in the Vanarama National League as they head to promotion hopefuls Gateshead tonight.

The Lions stretched their unbeaten league run to four games at the weekend when they battled to a goalless draw in Hertfordshire.

Mid-table Boreham Wood were the hosts then but Gateshead remain in the play-off places after their win at relegation-threatened Woking on Saturday.

A midweek trip to the north-east is difficult enough but facing a side with just a two-point cushion and a determination to remain in the top five makes it even more nerve-jangling.

Guiseley may have taken ten points from the last 12 on offer but their hosts have not tasted defeat in their last eight league games, banking seven victories and a draw.

Lions boss Adam Lockwood said: "It's a very tough ask for us to go to Gateshead and get something.

"We're going to have to assess the squad after injuries to John (Rooney) and Elliott (Green) at Boreham Wood but hopefully we can get ourselves right and get a result."

FARSLEY CELTIC look to claim the outright leadership in Division One North of the Evo-Stik League as they host Clitheroe.

The Celts won 5-3 at home to Bamber Bridge on Saturday to stay above joint-leaders Lancaster City on goal difference.

Tonight's fixture is Farsley's game in hand over Lancaster and joint-manager Neil Parsley said: "It's an opportunity for us but we know that we're going to be in for a tough game.

"Bamber Bridge made it very difficult for us on Saturday and Clitheroe will do the same. When we played them at their place, they showed what a good side they are.

"It is all about points at this stage of the season and we have to take as many as we can."

On a busy night for the Bradford area's non-League clubs, three other sides are in action but only LIVERSEDGE have home advantage.

Sedge were held to a home draw by Hemsworth Miners' Welfare at the weekend but will hope to do better as they host a Parkgate side in the relegation zone.

THACKLEY make the short trip to Harrogate Railway Athletic in the other Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division fixture.

SILSDEN travel to Charnock Richard in Division One of the Hallmark Security League.

The fourth-placed hosts are looking to consolidate their play-off place and complete a double as they won 1-0 in the August reverse fixture.
