YET another postponement has turned Guiseley Vixens' fairytale unbeaten start in Northern Division One of the FA Women's Premier League into a horror story.

They were at least spared a lengthy journey to County Durham last week for the game at Chester-le-Street.

Meanwhile, leaders Chorley were surprisingly beaten at home by Mossley Hill, leaving the second-placed Vixens with five games in hand to make up a current four-point deficit.

This week they are due to visit Morecambe – and with Chorley playing at third-placed Hull City, the league table could have an interesting look come tomorrow night.

At the other end of the table, Brighouse Town are facing an increasingly difficult survival fight after Mossley Hill's surprise win last weekend lifted them out of the bottom two at Town's expense.

The two relegation battlers clash at Brighouse tomorrow in a game of inestimable importance to both teams.

Farsley Celtic are another side having to exercise patience in the face of weather problems as their promotion bid in the North East Regional Women's League finds itself on hold.

They have only played ten Southern Division games so far but have won them all and have a seven-point lead over Sheffield Wednesday with a game in hand.

A visit from East Yorkshire side Malet Lambert should not present too many difficulties for Celtic this week, providing the recent lengthy lay-off has not disrupted their momentum.

Bradford Park Avenue's recent upturn in form could be put to the test away to a Brighouse Athletic side who could still make a West Riding County Women's League title challenge if they win their five games in hand on Premier Division leaders Leeds Medics & Dentists.

In Division One, second-bottom Tyersal travel to face new leaders Tingley Athletic Reserves.
