HOLDERS Clayton have a number of selection headaches prior to starting their defence of the Jack Senior Bradford Memorial Trophy with a home tie against neighbours Queensbury.

Coach Scott Pendlebury is awaiting the results of fitness tests on marksman Dane Bairstow and prolific try-scoring loose forward Simon Giles before deciding if he will don a jersey in a substitute role tomorrow.

Queensbury will miss youngsters Alix Stephenson and recent debutant Jack McMillan, who have joined Bradford Bulls, but they can dip into their huge reserves of talent to field centres Jason Gelder and Sam Smith.

Loose forward Sam Cheney and prop Loma Kivalu are also added to the visitors' squad.

Wibsey Warriors, of the Yorkshire Men's League, are at home to Wyke.

The Warriors, who are coming out of hibernation prior to the start of the summer season, face a battle-hardened Wyke outfit craving to make the Odsal final.

The black and whites have Matt Dennison back in action after a three-year absence travelling, while full back James Waines makes his long-awaited return from injury. Forward Scott Watson has recovered from a groin strain to claim his shirt.

The clash between props Mike Kite (Wibsey) and Ian Wormald (Wyke), who were pack colleagues at West Bowling, will be a worthy sideshow to the main event.

Last season's narrowly-beaten finalists Victoria Rangers are at home to Odsal Sedbergh.

Sedge are also plying their trade in the summer league and will be undercooked when they take to the field against a Vics outfit who have been struggling for numbers.

Yet the lure of the knockout competition should ensure a full complement for both sides in what is likely to be be a ding-dong encounter.

Rangers coach John Hodgson will select on the day following a roll call, while Sedbergh supreme Gary Priestley has his usual full squad available.
