LAST weekend’s 5-1 win left Bradford Park Avenue edging towards the safety mark in National North – and they head to Nuneaton Town tomorrow looking for another positive result.

Mark Bower’s men could climb out of the relegation places with a draw at the Liberty Way Stadium.

Bradford are in the drop zone on goal difference only and are only four points worse off than their 15th-placed hosts.

Nuneaton Town, nicknamed the Boro after the club’s original name, go into the game on the back of three heavy defeats.

But Avenue's boss is under no illusions about the task ahead this weekend.

Bower said: “We’ll have to play better than we did last week if we’re to get anything at Nuneaton.

“It’ll be a tough game because they all are in this league – it doesn’t matter who you play and we saw that last week. AFC Fylde are the top side and they were flying but they’ve had a bit of blip with a couple of bad results.

“That just shows how strong this league is from top to bottom.”

Fylde are seven points clear at the summit despite taking only one point from their last two league games.

Last Saturday’s home draw against an AFC Telford side just outside the relegation zone and only two points above Avenue came as a shock result – and perfectly underlines Bower’s claim that every game is a hard one.

“It would have been nice to get out of the bottom three after winning at home and then looking at the table, but Telford picked up a point that looked unlikely.” added Bower.

“This league is so close that you can’t predict anything, like tomorrow.

"Nuneaton are on a bad run but they’ve had some very difficult games. They’ve played Salford City, Kidderminster Harriers and Halifax recently.

“Before that they climbed the table with five straight wins in the league and then they beat a very strong Guiseley side 6-1 in the Trophy.

"It’ll be hard for us at their place in front of a very expectant crowd – and they will be expectant because we’re third bottom and their supporters will see it as chance to end their poor run.”

Nicky Boshell could be back in the squad following a recent injury and Liam Dickinson has come back from a loan spell.

However, young Bantams forward Reece Webb-Foster is looking at a long period out of the game after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in training while on loan at Avenue.
