ROMAIN Vincelot wants the Valley Parade faithful to bare their teeth and help tame the Lions.

Millwall visit City this afternoon for the first time since their play-off win eight months ago.

Only a handful of Bantams players remain from that defeat, Phil Parkinson's final home game in charge, but the fans will view it as a chance for revenge.

Vincelot said: "Our crowd are always a big help and it would be good if they can be even better than what they usually are. If they can put more pressure on Millwall – we'll take that."

The City skipper has not noticed any extra edge in the build-up for a side who are just outside the League One play-off picture. Yet he understands there might be more incentive for those who were involved in the May double-header.

"Nothing more has been said than for any other game but maybe some boys will keep that inside them," said Vincelot.

"You know what you are going to have with Millwall and the way they play. They have two good strikers – and (Steve) Morison is a real handful – and a strong team overall.

"But it's the type of game you like to play in. Do well and win and it means more.

"It's going to be a strong challenge against a physical team. But we have competed against good teams and it's about us again. Our home record is very good and we have to keep that up now."

Vincelot started his first Checkatrade Trophy game in the midweek win at Cheltenham as City booked a quarter-final clash at Oxford. He believes that competition can go hand-in-hand with their promotion push.

"Everybody has been very professional through the competition and that's why we are where we are now," he said.

"There are still a lot of games and it's important that everybody is match-fit. We don't know what will happen in the rest of the season and it keeps us all on our toes."
