BRADFORD Salem are holding a 'Meet Your Inner Warrior' session later this month to encourage more women and girls to play full-contact rugby.

The session on Saturday, January 28 (noon-1.30pm) is one of 100 taking place nationwide between January 19-29 as part of an England Rugby drive.

Steve Grainger, RFU rugby development director said: “We set ourselves an ambitious target when launching our women and girls' strategy in 2014 to get 25,000 women participating in contact rugby.

"Despite the ever-growing appetite for the sport that we have witnessed through achieving our target one year ahead of schedule, we know there is still work to be done to ensure women are aware of the opportunities out there for them to participate in rugby, whether for fun or at a competitive level.”

“The upcoming ‘Warrior Camp’ at Bradford Salem RFC is a great chance for newcomers or returning players to take part in the sport through a fun and informal session.”

The Bradford Salem RFC Warrior Camp is a commitment free taster sessions teaching participants key introductory skills and drills for rugby, with help on hand every step of the way.

All people need to take part are a pair of trainers and their usual workout gear.
