IT WAS a productive day for Yeadon team-mates Deo Jones and Mark Bleakley at the Bradford Closed Championships in Keighley.

Jones has been close to taking the men's singles in the past and was successful at last, beating Bleakley in the final.

It was role reversal, however, in the veterans' event as Bleakley took the title at Jones' expense.

The duo were also victorious in the men's doubles, beating Hermits pair Kevin Pickles and Richard Aitken in the final.

Zoe Cheeseman of Pudsey came out on top in the ladies' round-robin singles.

In the Bradford League, Rastrick's fortunes have been given a boost with their two acquisitions from Fastbats.

John Porter and Colin Priestley have been welcome additions to their squad and both figured prominently in their latest success against Hermits I.

Porter, Priestley and Mick Whitham all won twice each as Rastrick triumphed 7-3 to make it six victories from eight matches and they sit second in Division Three behind leaders Hermits G.

Pudsey B climbed to third in this section following their 8-2 victory at Hermits H. Linda Sanderson and Alex Waring were both unbeaten, with Lynne Thompson adding a single.
